Lenovo Group Limited known as Lenovo is a Chinese multinational technology company which was Incorporated in Hong Kon. Lenovo is headquartered in Beijing, China and operationally headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina, US, and has an operational center in Singapore. Lenovo works to design, develop, manufacture, and sell personal computers, tablet computers, smartphones, workstations, servers, supercomputers, electronic storage devices, IT management software, and smart televisions. Lenovo is the world’s largest personal computer vendor by unit sales as of January 2021. Lenovo also works to market the ThinkPad and ThinkBook business lines of laptop computers IdeaPad, Yoga, and Legion consumer lines of laptop computers; and the IdeaCentre and ThinkCentre lines of desktop computers.

Lenovo operates in over 60 countries and it sells its products in around 180 countries. Lenovo’ research centers are in Beijing, Chengdu, Yamato (Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan), Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Morrisville (North Carolina, US),[9] and also has Lenovo NEC Holdings, a joint venture with NEC that produces personal computers for the Japanese marketers.

Lenovo had been founded in Beijing in November 1984 as Legend, and had been incorporated in Hong Kong in 1988. Lenovo acquired IBM’s personal computer business in 2005 and had agreed for acquiring its Intel-based server business in 2014. Lenovo had entered the smartphone market in 2012 and as of 2014 Lenovo was been the largest vendor of smartphones in mainland China. In 2014, Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility from Google. In 2017, Lenovo acquired Fujitsu’s personal computer business.

Lenovo had sold its smartphone and tablet division in 2008 for US$100 million to focus on personal computers and then had paid US$200 million to buy it back in November 2009.

In 2018, Lenovo had become the world’s largest provider for the TOP500 supercomputers.
